IEEE- NUCES Orientation 2009
The orientation of the IEEE- NUCES was held on 29th September, 2009 at 2:00
pm in the auditorium.
The orientation presentation introduced the new IEEE-NUCES body to the
students of our university. The purpose of the orientation was to inform
people about the IEEE which operates as an international technical
Association. It defined the role and objectives of the Association working
as a professional organization and rendering its services for the
advancement of technical knowledge, technological innovations and
information.
The success of the event can be marked as the auditorium was full with
around 100 to 110 people attending the Orientation with students from
Computer Sciences, Business Administration and Electrical Engineering
departments. There was also a Question-Answer Session between the audience
and the executive team members which helped students in understanding about
the different aspects of IEEE- NUCES, its role as a student body of the IEEE
and the different posts in the society available for the students through
which they could be a part of IEEE- NUCES and IEEE at large.
The event also enabled us to acquire memberships for the IEEE which added
up to around 40 memberships right there and then. In fact, the whole session
was quite interactive and was really very convincing for the students of
2009 batch, especially. Refreshments were given to all the students to mark
the end of the orientation. In a nut shell, the whole orientation was very
successful in acquiring its aims and objectives.
